Evolve the technical foundations of Xero's global SEM program
n
Build and operationalise AI-powered workflows for optimisation, analysis, reporting and operations
n
Advance AI-driven SEM capabilities, including automated bidding and decision-making systems
n
Establish validation, guardrails and measurement for AI-driven systems
n
Identify and deliver automation opportunities that turn manual or complex SEM processes into scalable solutions
n
Partner with Data Science, Marketing Technology and Product to connect data, AI and emerging technology to the SEM ecosystem
n
Explore and test emerging search and AI capabilities for commercial advantage
n
Collaborate with the Head of SEM, SEM specialists, CRO, Performance Marketing and wider cross-functional teams
n
Share expertise and mentor team members
n

Requirements
n
n
Deep, hands-on SEM expertise
n
Experience managing large-scale, multi-market Paid Search programs
n
Solid understanding of Google Ads, SA360, modern bidding and automation
n
Proven technical builder capability designing and deploying automation, workflows or technical solutions
n
Hands‐on experience with AI and workflow orchestration tools such as Tray.ai, AirOps, n8n, Make, Zapier, OpenAI, Claude or similar
n




Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
n
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations and influence senior stakeholders
n
Willingness to share knowledge, mentor others and elevate team capability
n
