An outstanding chance has presented itself for a Driver Trainer, with a current Cert IV in Train Driving and a Cert IV in Training & Assessment to lead train crew development, based at our Coppabella depot.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Superintendent, you will deliver hands‑on and classroom training, assess competency, and work closely with supervisors to ensure safe, high‑performing operations.
Plan, prioritise and deliver compliant technical driver training
Train, assess and mentor train crew to meet Rail Safety Worker competency requirements
Develop and manage individual training plans aligned to operational needs
Ensure competencies, assessments, currency and records are completed on time
Work closely with Operational Leaders and Training Specialists to ensure consistent outcomes




Promote a strong safety culture and knowledge-sharing workplace

What you’ll bring:
Proven experience as a Mainline or Mentor Driver (currently accredited)
Solid track record of safe locomotive operations
Current Cert IV in Train Driving (please upload during application process)
Cert IV in Training & Assessment (TAE)
Strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement
Ability to coach, assess and mentor others effectively
Intermediate computer skills (MS Office and training/compliance systems)
Clear and confident communication skills at all levels
