Support includes food assistance, financial aid, help with energy bills, budget counselling, school essentials, and household items such as furniture, clothing and bedding.
Just as importantly, the organisation provides emotional support and connection, along with referral pathways to additional services.
Alongside this, Vinnies NSW delivers over 100 frontline services addressing issues including homelessness, domestic and family violence, disability, mental health, youth wellbeing, refugee and migrant inclusion, and recovery from addiction.
The opportunity
This is anewly created leadership role, reflecting the continued growth of philanthropy at the St Vincent de Paul Society NSW.
As the program has expanded, there is now adedicated focus on major gifts, allowing for a more strategic and targeted approach to engaging high-value donors.
You will directlyshape the growth of Major Gifts across NSW and lead a small team.
By building strong relationships with high-net-worth supporters, you will play a key part in unlockingsignificant funding that supports people experiencing disadvantage.
You will lead a strategic major gifts program thatdrives six-figure and multi-year contributions, ensuring donors feel deeply connected to the Vinnies mission and the difference their support makes.
Reporting to the Director, Fundraising, you willmanage the full major donor lifecyclewhileworking closely with the CEO and senior leaders to secure transformational gifts.
This is a full time, hybrid role, working from their Lewisham Offices 3 days a week.
In this role, you will
Lead implementation of the Major Gifts Strategy aligned with the Fundraising Strategy and organisational Strategic Plan.




Build and manage a strong pipeline of high-net-worth donors and prospects through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Undertake research and prospecting of high-net-worth individuals to build a robust donor pipeline - through use of Wealthscan and other prospecting tools.
Manage a small team of philanthropy fundraisers.
Work with senior leaders and the CEO to grow transformational gifts
Deliver against revenue targets through strategic asks and proposals
Use data and insights to track performance and strengthen donor engagement
About you
You bring proven experience in major gifts fundraising and a genuine passion for impact.
You are confident managing high-value relationships and comfortable making significant asks.
Demonstrated success growing major gift programs, and building donor pipelines
Experience developing and progressing a pipeline through donor identification, qualification and cultivation
Proven ability to 'make the ask' for six + figure gifts
Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
Confident communicator with strong written and presentation skills
Strategic thinker with the ability to use data to inform decisions
NSW driver licence required
