The Role
n
Mitchcon is seeking an experienced and technically capable Mechanical Engineering Technician to support the maintenance, testing, inspection and improvement of mechanical equipment and systems used across its operations.
n
The annual salary is set between $79,500 - $85,000 depending on experience plus superannuation. The role is based in Braeside, VIC.

The Responsibilities

Assist with the design, modification and improvement of mechanical equipment and systems.
n
Inspect, test, maintain and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and machinery.
n
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, plans and technical specifications.
n
Assist with installation, commissioning and repair of mechanical equipment.
n
Conduct mechanical testing and inspections to identify faults and performance issues.
n
Assist engineers with technical analysis,



calculations and engineering documentation.
n
Support preventative maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
n
Ensure all mechanical work complies with relevant standards, specifications and workplace safety requirements.
n
Maintain accurate technical, maintenance and inspection records.
n
Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians and operational teams.

The Requirements
n
n
Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
n
At least 2 years of relevant experience working as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or in a similar engineering support role.
n
At least 2 years of experience working with mechanical equipment, machinery, maintenance or engineering systems.
n
At least 2 years of experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, plans and technical specifications.
n
At least 2 years of experience conducting mechanical inspections, testing, troubleshooting or maintenance activities.
n
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
n
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using relevant engineering or CAD software.
n
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
n
Valuable communication and teamwork skills.
n
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
n
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
n
