Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Corporate & Institutional Banker to help build out the Financial Institutions business for a well established global wholesale bank, based in their Sydney branch. This is a pivotal hire for the bank – tasked to set up the structure and framework, take end-to-end ownership of origination, transaction execution and portfolio management for the division.

Working closely with the Head of Financial Institutions, the successful candidate will confidently originate and manage a broad range of transactions and products, develop relationships with key Australian financial institutions, and contribute to the long-term growth and success of the division.

Current business origination will be a key part of the role and will be at least as important as maintaining existing portfolio. The successful candidate will bring an established network of Financial Institution relationships and a proven ability to originate new client relationships and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Manage existing and prospect new relationships with Banks, NBFIs,



and Sovereign clients.
n
Originate, structure and execute transactions within the bank's risk appetite.
n
Identify opportunities across syndicated lending, trade finance, treasury and structured solutions.
n
Lead credit analysis, deal execution, and portfolio management activities.
n
Work closely with internal stakeholders including Treasury, Credit, Risk and Compliance teams.
n
Contribute to strategy and framework setting, credit standards, portfolio qualify and process improvements.

About You
n
n
5+ years' experience in an origination / coverage role in Corporate Banking, Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in Australia.
n
Strong track record in client origination and transaction execution in the Australian market.
n
Knowledge of expertise of credit analysis and structuring.
n
Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance growth and risks.
n
Experience working in cross-cultural banking environments is highly regarded.
