Job Description
Female Carers with Tracheostomy Experience – Complex Care
n
Peartree Life Care is looking for experienced Female Carers with Tracheostomy experience to join our trusted Complex Care team in Northamptonshire.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced carer who is confident supporting individuals with complex medical needs in their own home and within the community.
n
You will be providing high-quality, person-centred care while working closely with the individual, their family, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
n
This is a flexible contracting opportunity with the potential for ongoing, long-term placements.
n
Requirements – You Must Have
n
n
Previous experience working in complex care.
n
Hands-on experience supporting individuals with a tracheostomy.
n
Confidence in following tracheostomy care plans and clinical instructions.
n
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
n
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
n
Good understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care.
n
Ability to work independently while also being part of a wider care team.
n
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
n
Ability to work day and/or night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
n
Reliable, professional, and compassionate approach to care.
n
n
Experience with some of the following would be advantageous:
n
n
Tracheostomy care and suctioning.
n
Ventilation support, including CPAP or other respiratory equipment.
n
Mobility and moving & handling.
n
Supporting complex medical equipment.
n
Recognising and escalating changes in a person's condition.
n
n
Your Role Will Include
n
n
Providing safe, compassionate, and person-centred care in the individual's home.
n
Supporting with tracheostomy care, including monitoring and following the prescribed care plan.
n
Supporting with suctioning and respiratory care where trained and authorised.
n
Monitoring for signs of respiratory distress, infection, or changes in condition and escalating concerns appropriately.
n
Supporting with medication as required and in accordance with the care plan.
n
Providing personal care, including washing, dressing, continence care, and hygiene.
n
Supporting with PEG/NG feeding where applicable.
n
Assisting with mobility, repositioning, and daily activities.
n
Monitoring and recording vital signs where required.
n
Supporting access to appointments and activities within the community.
n
Maintaining accurate and timely care records.
n
Working collaboratively with family members, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
n
Following all clinical, safeguarding, health and safety, and infection‐control procedures.
n
