Lead the retail team at one of WA's leading independent Mitre 10 stores

Atkinson's Mitre 10 Hillarys is looking for an experienced and energetic Retail Manager to join our leadership team and take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of our retail operation.
n
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading people, driving sales and creating an outstanding customer experience.
n
You will oversee our key retail departments including Hardware, Paint, Power & Hand Tools, Garden, Outdoor Living and Retail Plumbing, working closely with our General Manager, Department Leads, Inventory Manager and Trade team.
n
The role
n
As Retail Manager, you'll take ownership of the performance and presentation of the retail floor while developing a motivated, knowledgeable and customer-focused team.
n
Your key responsibilities will include:
n
Leading, coaching and developing our retail team and Department Leads
n
Driving exceptional customer service and sales performance
n
Maintaining high standards of store presentation, merchandising and promotional execution
n
Monitoring daily sales performance and identifying opportunities to improve results
n
Managing min's and max's and managing price updates
n
Working with the Inventory Manager to manage slow-moving and excess stock
n
Ensuring promotional ends, displays and catalogue activity are executed effectively
n
Managing rostering, team performance and day-to-day operational requirements
n
Identifying opportunities to improve processes, productivity and customer experience
n
Supporting local area marketing, promotions and community engagement
n
Maintaining a safe, clean and professional retail setting
n




Working with the General Manager to identify and implement new sales and business opportunities
n
About you
n
We're looking for an experienced retail leader who is comfortable taking ownership and leading from the front.
n
Ideally, you'll bring:
n
3+ years' experience in retail sales, supervision or management
n
Previous experience in hardware, tools, building products, garden, trade retail or a similar workplace
n
Available to work a Sunday - Thursday roster (Friday's and Saturday's off).
n
Strong people leadership and team-development skills
n
A genuine customer-first mindset
n
Strong merchandising and retail presentation skills
n
Good understanding of inventory control and stock management
n
Commercial awareness and the ability to understand sales, margins and store performance
n
Confidence managing competing priorities in a busy retail environment
n
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
n
A practical, positive and hands-on leadership style
n
Hardware industry experience will be highly regarded, but equally important is your ability to lead a team, drive standards and deliver results.
