NEPEAN Longwall is a leading provider of specialised underground mining equipment to the Australian coal industry. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and reliable CNC Machinist to join our team based in Paget, Mackay QLD.

About the Role
n
Reporting to the Production Manager, this hands‐on role will see you program, set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture one‐off production components to a high standard of quality, precision and safety.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Program, set up and operate CNC vertical and horizontal borers, mills and lathes
n
Perform precision milling, turning, boring and drilling to produce high-quality manufactured components
n
Review factory orders and drawings to determine job specifications and requirements
n
Carry out dimensional inspections and monitor product quality throughout production
n
Load and unload products safely while ensuring correct product orientation in machinery
n
Monitor and change cutting tools as needed to maintain machining efficiency and quality
n
Enter, retrieve, title and store CNC programs and maintain source files.
n
Operate manual machines including mills, lathes, drills and saws when required
n
Support the Production Manager and Supervisors with additional tasks when machine downtime occurs
n

About You




n
n
Trade qualification such as Certificate III in Engineering, Fitter Machinist or Toolmaker trade qualifications
n
2–5 years' experience as a CNC Machinist
n
Sound knowledge of Mazatrol, Heidenhain and Fanuc controls
n
Experience with CAD/CAM and PowerMill is an advantage and will be highly regarded
n
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
n
Ability to read and interpret drawings, work orders and technical specifications
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
n
A cooperative approach, flexibility and willingness to support the broader team when required
n
Organisational and time management skills
