Job Description
A well-established Perth civil contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer with strong FRP concrete expertise to support the delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects across Perth's metro region. With a strong pipeline of MRWA/PTA-related works and projects valued up to $50 million, this is a permanent full time opportunity with a reputable local contractor currently in an exciting growth phase. The business has approximately 75 staff and offers a practical, hands-on environment where strong engineers can take genuine ownership of project delivery, commercial performance, subcontractor coordination, and technical FRP outcomes, without the need for FIFO work.

The Opportunity
n
Reporting into senior management, you'll play a key role in planning, coordinating, and driving the successful delivery of civil construction projects with a strong focus on FRP reinforced concrete structures, alongside associated civil and earthworks scopes. This role will suit a capable Senior Project Engineer who is technically strong, commercially aware, and ready to step into a high-impact delivery position on challenging metro projects.

Key Responsibilities
n

Support delivery of civil construction projects valued up to $50m mainly across MRWA and PTA infrastructure works
n
Coordinate FRP concrete works including methodology, sequencing, reinforcement, formwork, and installation activities
n
Manage project engineering requirements including RFIs, ITPs, QA documentation, procurement, and subcontractor coordination
n
Assist with budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, claims, variations, and monthly reporting
n
Develop and maintain short-term programs, procurement schedules, and lookahead plans
n
Work closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives
n




Identify and manage project risks, technical issues, and commercial impacts early
n
Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with quality, environmental, and contractual requirements
n

About You
n
n
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
n
Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer with civil contractors
n
Demonstrated experience with FRP concrete, reinforced concrete structures, bridges, culverts, retaining walls, or similar infrastructure scopes
n
Strong understanding of Australian civil construction standards, specifications, contracts, and methodologies
n
Commercially aware with solid cost control, reporting, and subcontractor management skills
n
Experience on projects valued up to $10m-$50m in Australia, the UK, or New Zealand will be highly regarded
n
Confident communicator who can work effectively with site teams, clients, consultants, and senior management
n
Motivated to build a long-term career with a local Perth contractor in a permanent metro-based role
