About the Role
n
The Asset Engineer will lead asset lifecycle planning and renewal priorities across the university's national property portfolio.
n
This strategic and hands-on role will assess the condition, performance and risk of buildings and infrastructure, establish consistent asset-management frameworks, and turn technical data into clear maintenance, renewal and capital investment recommendations.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Develop university-wide asset-management frameworks, lifecycle models and assessment methodologies.
n
Lead asset condition, criticality and performance assessments.
n
Develop long-term asset renewal, replacement and capital investment strategies.
n
Prioritise maintenance and renewal based on asset condition, risk and operational importance.
n
Provide strategic engineering advice across buildings, infrastructure, utilities and critical systems.
n
Lead infrastructure risk, statutory compliance and engineering-governance activities.
n
Improve asset data quality, reporting,
analytics and system integration.
n
Translate technical, operational, financial and risk data into explicit investment recommendations.
n
Prepare strategic reports and presentations for senior leadership.
n
Build effective relationships across facilities, projects, finance, governance and external technical partners.
n

About You
n
You will bring strong asset-management or engineering experience, supported by technical, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
n
n
A degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Infrastructure Management, Building Services or a related discipline.
n
Experience in asset management, facilities engineering, infrastructure planning or building services.
n
Experience working across a large, complex or geographically dispersed property portfolio.
n
Demonstrated experience developing asset lifecycle strategies, renewal programs and infrastructure investment plans.
n
Strong knowledge of risk-based maintenance, engineering governance and statutory compliance.
n
The ability to translate asset, operational, financial and risk data into strategic recommendations.
n
Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
