An exciting opportunity has become available for an Accountant to join a growing and established business based in Melbourne inner suburbs.

n

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant looking to step up to an Accountant role, and take ownership of core financial accounting activities and gain broader exposure across reporting, month-end, controls and process improvement.

About the role:

n

n
Managing month-end and year-end close activities
n
Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals, prepayments and adjustments
n
Performing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
n
Preparing financial statements, supporting schedules and management reporting
n
Analysing P&L; and balance sheet movements and providing variance commentary
n
Supporting internal and external reporting requirements
n
Working with auditors and providing supporting documentation
n
Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiencies
n
Working closely with FP&A;, Operations, Supply Chain, Tax and Technology teams
n
Supporting system enhancements,



automation and process documentation
n

About you

n

We're looking for someone with:

n

n
2+ years of progressive financial accounting or audit experience
n
Robust understanding of accounting principles
n
Hands-on experience supporting month-end close
n
Solid analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
n
Ability to work independently and resolve accounting issues
n
Experience with ERP systems and strong Excel skills
n
CA, CPA or equivalent qualification in progress
n
Exposure to inventory, revenue recognition or cost accounting is highly regarded
n
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
n
