Marketing and Corporate Affairs is focused on continually driving positive reputation, brand consideration and customer engagement with the Commonwealth Bank. The function has direct responsibility for end-to-end marketing, branding, stakeholder insights, government relations, communications and corporate social responsibility.

This specific role creates content - video, image, and audio - and supports the team as an expert and consult on production.
n
You will deliver best in class work with an inspired CBAGENCY team that rivals the external agency network in quality, but partners alongside it to create value.

The Candidate

You're a social-first content creator who loves making things people actually want to watch, share and engage with.
n
You're naturally curious about what's happening on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and emerging platforms, from new formats and creator trends to changes in how brands show up.
n
You understand that great social content isn't simply a cut-down of a bigger campaign. You think platform-first, considering the audience, format, hook, pace and context from the start.
n
You're comfortable picking up a phone or camera, capturing an idea and turning it into polished content quickly.
n
You have a good eye for visual storytelling and can create engaging short-form video, stills and simple motion content.
n
You're interested in AI and emerging creative technology, and curious about how new tools can make content creation faster, smarter and more creative.
n
You're happy experimenting, learning and trying new things and sharing what you discover with the wider team.
n
You're collaborative, organised and comfortable working with creatives, producers, designers, marketers and stakeholders.
n
You pay attention to culture and have a robust instinct for what feels current, relevant and right for the platform.

On any given day, you will:
n
n
Create and produce social-first content including short-form video, photography, simple animation and other platform-native formats.
n
Help take ideas from concept through to execution, including scripting, storyboarding, shooting, editing, captioning and delivery.
n
Create content optimised for platforms including TikTok, Instagram Reels and Stories, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn.
n
Stay across social trends, creators, formats, platform features and emerging behaviours, and bring relevant opportunities back to the team.
n
Bring a creator mindset to briefs, helping identify ways to make ideas feel more natural and engaging within social environments.
n
Produce content quickly when required, while maintaining CommBank brand standards and attention to detail.
n
Work closely with creatives and producers to adapt larger campaigns into effective social executions, as well as developing content specifically for social from the outset.
n
Experiment with AI-enabled creative tools to support ideation, production, editing and content development,
within CommBank's responsible AI and risk frameworks.
n
Help the team test new production techniques, workflows and technology.
n
Contribute ideas, references and inspiration to the broader CBAGENCY team.
n
Learn from more experienced production specialists while continuing to develop your craft across shooting, editing, sound, lighting and post-production.
n
Consider content performance and audience response, using learnings to make future work stronger.

We'd love to hear from people who can talk about their experience in:
n
n
Around 1-3 years' experience creating social, digital or video content, whether within an agency, brand, production company, media business or similar environment.
n
A portfolio or examples of work that demonstrate your ability to create engaging social-first content.
n
A strong working knowledge of the major social platforms and an understanding of how content and audience behaviour differs between them.
n
Confident shooting content using smartphones and/or mirrorless cameras.
n
Comfortable editing short-form video using tools such as Premiere Pro, CapCut or similar editing software.
n
Some experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is beneficial; you don't need to be an expert across every application.
n
An understanding of the basics of lighting, audio, composition and shooting for different social formats.
n
Curiosity about generative AI and emerging creative technology. Experience experimenting with AI tools for ideation, image, video, audio or post-production is highly regarded, but we don't expect you to know everything already.
n
Strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate, take feedback and learn.
