About The Role
As a Crew Leader (Civil Delivery), you will lead and coordinate civil construction and maintenance crews across multiple work sites, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will supervise daily activities, monitor work programs, support staff development, and ensure compliance with Council policies, quality standards, and legislative requirements.
This specific Crew Leader position is responsible for Council's Asphalt Paver Crew. In addition to the above, you will lead and supervise an 11-person crew in the delivery of asphalt paving operations across the Townsville region.
Working closely with the Team Leader Construction, you will contribute to the delivery of road maintenance, capital road works, and other municipal infrastructure projects that support our growing community.
About You
You are a safety-focused leader with extensive experience in civil construction and municipal infrastructure works. You possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for the community.
You Will Bring
Demonstrated experience leading construction crews in a civil construction environment.
Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure construction and maintenance practices.
Experience applying workplace health and safety, quality assurance, and compliance requirements.
Proven ability to motivate teams, solve problems, and manage competing priorities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining accountability for operational outcomes.
Mandatory Requirements
Certificate III in Civil Construction.
Construction Industry White Card.
Protected Working Near Live Exposed Parts training certificate.




Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence and MR Class Licence.
Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) accreditation.
Desirable Requirements
Certificate IV in Civil Construction
Experience working in road construction and/or asphalting operations.
