An outstanding opportunity has presented itself for a Driver Trainer, with a current Cert IV in Train Driving and a Cert IV in Training & Assessment to lead train crew development, based at our Coppabella depot.
n
What you'll do:
n
Reporting to the Superintendent, you will deliver hands‐on and classroom training, assess competency, and work closely with supervisors to ensure safe, high‐performing operations.
n
n
Plan, prioritise and deliver compliant technical driver training
n
Train, assess and mentor train crew to meet Rail Safety Worker competency requirements
n
Develop and manage individual training plans aligned to operational needs
n
Ensure competencies, assessments, currency and records are completed on time
n
Work closely with Operational Leaders and Training Specialists to ensure consistent outcomes
n




Promote a strong safety culture and knowledge-sharing setting
n
n
What you'll bring:
n
n
Proven experience as a Mainline or Mentor Driver (currently accredited)
n
Strong track record of safe locomotive operations
n
Current Cert IV in Train Driving (please upload during application process)
n
Cert IV in Training & Assessment (TAE)
n
Strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement
n
Ability to coach, assess and mentor others effectively
n
Intermediate computer skills (MS Office and
training/compliance
systems)
n
Clear and confident communication skills at all levels
n
