Job Description
We're seeking a dedicated Special & Inclusive Education Teacher to join a collaborative Learning Enrichment Team, supporting students with diverse learning needs in a welcoming and values-driven independent College. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in creating an inclusive learning environment where students are supported academically, socially, and emotionally to achieve their full potential.

About The Role
n
Working under the guidance of the Head of Learning Enrichment, you will provide targeted support to students requiring additional learning adjustments, while contributing to the College's whole-school inclusive education framework. You will work closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary professionals to develop personalised learning programs that foster student success and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
n
Differentiate curriculum, teaching strategies, and assessment to support diverse learners, including students accessing the NSW Life Skills curriculum.
n
Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement effective inclusive teaching practices.
n
Coordinate and support Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) processes.
n
Liaise with Speech Pathologists, Educational Psychologists, medical professionals, and external agencies to support student learning.
n
Build strong partnerships with parents and carers to ensure positive student outcomes.
n
Maintain accurate documentation, student records, and progress reports.
n
Support students across academic, social, behavioural, and emotional domains.
n
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented, and inclusive school culture.

About You
n
n
A minimum of three years' teaching experience in a school workplace.
n
Relevant qualifications in Special Education or Learning Support (highly regarded).
n
Current NESA Accreditation.
n
Experience developing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
n
Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, NSW Life Skills curriculum, Disability Discrimination Act *****), Disability Standards for Education *****), and AITSL Professional Standards.
n
Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in Years 7–12.
n
Exceptional organisational, administrative, and record-keeping skills.
n
Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
n
A cooperative approach with a strong commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion, and continuous professional learning.
n

Desirable
n
n
Experience working within an independent K–12 school.
n
Leadership experience within a Learning Support or Diverse Learning environment.
n
Understanding of NESA disability provisions.
n
A commitment to supporting the Islamic ethos and values of the College.
n
A current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of commencement, is required.
