Safety Officer | Residential Construction
n
Stoddart Group is looking for a practical, site-focused Safety Officer to join our Work Health & Safety team.
n
This is a hands-on field role, with the majority of your time spent across residential construction sites, working directly with supervisors, subcontractors and operational teams to provide practical WHS advice and support.
n
Working closely with the Group WHS Manager, you will have the autonomy to manage multiple sites and priorities while maintaining a strong, visible safety presence across our construction operations.

What you'll be doing
n
n
Conduct regular site inspections, safety walks, audits and compliance checks across residential construction sites.
n
Provide practical WHS advice to supervisors, subcontractors and site teams.
n
Identify hazards, assess risks and work with teams to implement practical controls.
n
Review SWMS and subcontractor WHS documentation for compliance.
n
Build strong relationships with supervisors and subcontractors through a visible, on-site presence.
n
Participate in pre-starts, toolbox talks and safety meetings.
n
Assist with incident and near-miss investigations and follow corrective actions through to completion.
n
Support rehabilitation and return-to-work activities.
n
Maintain WHS documentation, reporting and records.
n

What you'll bring
n
n
Minimum 2 years' experience in a WHS Officer,
Safety Advisor or similar role.
n
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or higher.
n
WHS experience within residential construction, construction or a similar site-based environment.
n
Practical experience conducting WHS audits, site inspections and compliance reviews.
n
Practical knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and construction safety requirements.
n
Robust communication and influencing skills.
n
Confidence working directly with supervisors, subcontractors and site teams.
n
Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple sites and priorities.
n
Current Australian Driver Licence and willingness to travel between sites.
n

Highly regarded
n
n
Previous WHS experience within residential construction.
n
n
