Sante Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Specialist General Surgeon – Warrnambool, VIC to join the Surgical Services team at Warrnambool Campus.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a General Surgeon to join a supportive and team-oriented multidisciplinary team and provide high-quality surgical care to the local community and the wider South West region of Victoria.
n
The Role: The successful applicant will participate in the delivery of a comprehensive range of general surgical services, including inpatient and outpatient care, elective and emergency surgery, clinical assessment and management, and ongoing clinical and service development activities.
n
You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the surgical, medical, nursing and allied health teams to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care.
n
The role provides the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of surgical services within a major regional health service.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Provide high-quality General Surgical services to inpatients and outpatients.
n
Participate in elective and emergency surgical procedures.
n
Undertake clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of patients.
n
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care.
n
Provide clinical leadership and support to junior medical staff where appropriate.
n
Participate in relevant clinical meetings,



education and teaching.
n
Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and service development.
n
Participate in relevant on‐call and after‐hours arrangements.
n
Support the ongoing development of General Surgery services across the region.
n
n
What You Bring The Successful Candidate Will
n
n
Hold FRACS or an equivalent specialist qualification in General Surgery.
n
Be registered, or eligible for registration, with AHPRA.
n
Demonstrate broad experience and competence across General Surgery.
n
Demonstrate a strong commitment to high‐quality, safe and patient‐centred clinical care.
n
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
n
Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
n
Demonstrate a commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement and continuing professional development.
n
Have the ability to contribute positively to the ongoing development of surgical services within a regional health service.
n
n
International Medical Graduates are encouraged to apply, provided they meet the requirements for specialist registration with AHPRA.
