Supporting young people with medical, physical and intellectual disabilities means seeing the person before the disability.
n It means understanding their needs, respecting their independence, celebrating their abilities, and helping them experience choice, dignity and belonging.
n they need people who can create an environment that feels safe, predictable, respectful and supportive.
n Sometimes the most powerful thing you can give a young person is consistency.
n Young people living with disability don't need someone who has all the answers, sometimes all they need is consistency

genuinely enjoy working with children and young people aged 0-18
n
Are confident and comfortable supporting young people withcomplex physical, intellectual, developmental and medical disabilities
n
Can providepersonal care and medical supportwith patience, dignity and respect
n
Are calm, patient and able to support young people throughemotional regulation and challenging moments
n
Can follow individual care,
medical and support plans while maintaining a safe and consistent environment
n
Can
encourageindependence,
participation and community involvement, regardless of a young person's level of ability
n
Are a strong communicator who can build trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
n
Bring warmth, positivity and a willingness to learn, understanding that every young person has different needs
n

You'll Bring
n
n
A current Australian driver's licence (minimum P2).
n
A Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain them.
n
Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
n
A completed or currently enrolled Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, Social Work or a related qualification.
n
Experience supporting people with complex behaviours, including using trauma-informed, person-centred approaches and maintaining safety during escalated situations.
n
Availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts across a 7-day roster, including the ability to complete a minimum of two sleepover shifts per fortnight.
n
