Respect Avonlea, located in Nhill, Victoria, is seeking an experienced, caring, and passionate Registered Nurse to join our team on a full-time basis, working 38 hours per week.

About The Position
n
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, competent, and contemporary clinical nursing care to residents within the scope of practice as determined by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
n
On a day-to-day basis, this position will report to the Care Manager and General Manager, with indirect reporting to other organisational management representatives as required.
n
Key Duties
n
n
Compile comprehensive resident histories from residents and/or family members to identify care needs through participation in resident admissions and ongoing assessments.
n
Maintain a high standard of clinical documentation that accurately reflects the care provided.
n
Develop, implement, and regularly evaluate resident care plans in accordance with individual care needs and organisational requirements.
n
Assist with resident admission assessments and ongoing clinical assessments.
n
Provide direct clinical care to residents as required, which may include personal hygiene, pain management, wound care, clinical monitoring, and participation in GP rounds.
n
Administer medications safely and assume responsibility for correct medication ordering, storage, administration, and documentation in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
n
Work collaboratively with residents, families, care staff, health professionals,



and management to ensure high-quality, person-centred care.
n
Respond appropriately to changes in residents' health and wellbeing and escalated clinical concerns when required.
n
Support a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all residents and staff.
n

Essential Requirements
n
n
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
n
Knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant aged care legislation and requirements.
n
Knowledge of the Residential Classification Scale and relevant aged care assessment processes.
n
Current National Police Certificate or the ability to obtain one.
n
Strong clinical assessment, medication management, and documentation skills.
n
Understanding of the aged care accreditation and compliance process.
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
n
Commitment to providing compassionate, person-centred care to older Australians.
n

To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
