Job Description
The Position
n
Scotch College has an exciting opportunity for a full-time educator to fulfill the role of Commerce Teacher to commence in January ****; this is a permanent position. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching Business Management and Enterprise, and Accounting and Finance in Years 11 and 12. Experience teaching Economics would be highly regarded.

The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding teaching practice and a strong understanding of the Western Australian curriculum, with the ability to inspire students and achieve excellent learning outcomes. They will be committed to fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment, supporting student wellbeing, and contributing to a collaborative and high-performing faculty. The role requires a teacher who values innovation, continuous improvement and evidence-based teaching practice. The position summary for Senior School Teachers emphasises excellence in teaching practice, pastoral care, co-curricular involvement and professional development.

About You
n
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
n
n
Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications and registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
n
A comprehensive understanding of the Western Australian curriculum and contemporary teaching practice.
n
Demonstrated ability to create engaging, challenging and differentiated learning experiences.
n
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, parents and colleagues.
n
The ability to work collaboratively within a cohesive and motivated faculty.
n
Well-developed organisational, planning and time management skills.
n
A commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
n
A willingness to contribute positively to the pastoral and co-curricular programmes of the College.
n
A demonstrated commitment to child safety and the values of Scotch College.
n
n
Knowledge and experience of teaching Digital Technologies is also desirable but not essential.
n
The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of a current Working with Children Check and registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
