Bring fashion, colour and personality to a product category ready for something new.
This newly created role is for a trend-driven designer who can transform everyday pet products into playful, fashion-forward collections people will love.
Think original prints, unexpected colour combinations, bold graphics and coordinated ranges—all created for major retailers and customers around the world.
The Company
This highly successful Australian manufacturer creates innovative consumer products for major retailers across Australia, New Zealand and growing global markets.
Led by exceptional people, they have built a refreshingly different, people-first workplace where ideas are welcomed, every voice is heard and individuals are genuinely valued.
They care about what they create, how they work and the people they work alongside.
It is a culture people are proud to be part of.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Design, you will bring a fresh, fashion-led approach to the company's growing pet category.
Working across pet apparel, collars, leads and accessories, you will use colour, pattern, graphics and storytelling to create fun, cohesive collections that feel current, desirable and commercially relevant.
You will:
Develop fashion-led concepts for pet products and accessories
Create original prints, patterns, graphics and colour palettes
Build coordinated seasonal ranges with a explicit visual story
Translate fashion, lifestyle and consumer trends into commercial product ideas
Develop mood boards, concepts, presentations and production-ready artwork
Collaborate with Industrial Design, Product, Buying and Sales teams
Work within commercial briefs, timelines and retail price points
Help turn an established category into an exciting lifestyle offering
A Bit About You
You are naturally curious, creatively brave and always noticing what is coming next.
You have a great eye for colour, pattern and detail—and know how to turn an idea into something people want to buy.
Your experience could come from fashion, textiles, accessories, stationery, homewares or another design-led consumer category.
Pet industry experience is not essential.
Your creative instinct, portfolio and commercial mindset are what matter most.
You will ideally bring:
Experience in graphic, textile, print, surface or product design
A portfolio filled with original prints, patterns and cohesive collections
A strong understanding of colour, composition and fashion-led trends
The ability to make creative ideas commercially viable
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Experience preparing artwork and specifications for production
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Why Make the Move?
This is a rare opportunity to create something new within an established and successful Australian manufacturer.
You will have room to explore ideas, experiment creatively and see your designs reach major retailers and homes around the world.
You will also enjoy hybrid working, health and wellbeing initiatives, and a genuinely supportive environment where your voice is heard, your ideas matter and your career can grow from strength to strength.
The Details
Based in Melbourne's Western Suburbs, with three days in the office and two days from home.
If you are ready to bring fresh thinking, great taste and a little creative magic to an everyday category, we would love to hear from you.
