The New Acland Coal Mine (NAC), a thin seam open cut mining operation is owned and managed by New Hope Group. NAC is based 35km north-west of Toowoomba and plays a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October ****.
n
With stage 3 approved in ****, the operation is set to continue production into the ****s. When fully ramped-up, Stage 3 operations are expected to deliver about five million tonnes of saleable product per annum.

About the role:
n
As NAC continues to progress, we are now seeking experienced Mobile Maintenance Diesel Fitters (Mechanical Trade) to join the Mobile Maintenance Team on a permanent, full-time basis. Working a 7/7 day / night rotating roster and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mobile Maintenance Diesel Fitter plays a pivotal role in performing safe & effective mobile machinery maintenance and delivering machine availability targets.

What you will do:
n
n
Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance activities on a wide range of Caterpillar, Hitachi & Letourneau heavy earthmoving machinery
n
Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
n
Conduct in-pit breakdowns repairs and fault finding
n
Complete machine rebuilds and component change outs across the mining fleet
n




Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site procedures and safety requirements
n
n
To be considered for these opportunities you will bring:
n
n
Diesel Fitting Trade Qualifications
n
Proven heavy mobile earthmoving equipment experience in a production mining environment
n
Current coal board medical and Standard 11 Induction (Or willing to obtain)
n
Experience with Caterpillar, Hitachi and Letourneau machines preferable
n
Queensland driver's licence (manual)
n
Experience with computer-based maintenance systems (desirable)
n
n

Ability to work a rotating 7/7 day / night roster including weekends and night shift

The ability to contribute to and work as part of team in a fast-paced environment
