Job Description
Location: Newcastle (3 days per week onsite, rest remote)

The Role
n
We are seeking a Payroll Advisor to join a busy Payroll Shared Services team, supporting end-to-end payroll processing across multiple regions. This is a varied role offering exposure to both in‐house and outsourced payroll operations, with responsibility for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery while providing an excellent service to employees.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Process payroll activities for starters and leavers.
n
Administer one‐off payments, season ticket loans and bicycle loans.
n
Check and validate payroll changes, including flexible benefits.
n
Upload and process tax‐related payroll information.
n
Manage sickness absence and statutory absence processes.
n
Support maternity, paternity and shared parental leave administration.
n
Assist with payroll processing activities and payroll checks.
n
Process payroll journals and related financial transactions.
n
Perform account reconciliations and payroll auditing activities.
n
Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and internal procedures.
n
Undertake data cleansing and data quality activities.
n
Manage third‐party payments and payroll queries.
n
Deliver a high level of customer service to employees and stakeholders.
n

Key Skills Required
n
n
Strong payroll processing experience.
n
Good understanding of payroll legislation and payroll procedures.
n
Experience working to high levels of accuracy and tight deadlines.
n
Experience or awareness of Shared Service Centre environments.
n
Ability to create, maintain and review payroll procedures.
n
Experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
n
Strong payroll reconciliation and reporting capabilities.
n
