Property Lawyer to Senior Lawyer | Property, Leasing & Conveyancing

Sydney CBD | Full Time | Career Progression | Established Property Practice

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Property Lawyer to Senior Lawyer to join a well-established and growing law firm in the Sydney CBD.
n
Working within a collaborative property and commercial team, you will manage a varied portfolio of property matters and work directly with a diverse client base, including private clients, investors, commercial landlords and tenants, and property developers.
n
This opportunity would suit a lawyer looking for greater autonomy, quality client exposure and the chance to continue progressing within a supportive practice.
n
The Role
n
You will work across a broad range of property matters, including:
n
n
Managing property transactions from initial instructions through to completion and settlement.
n
Acting on residential and commercial conveyancing matters, including acquisitions and disposals.
n
Advising on commercial, retail, office and industrial leasing matters.
n
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating leases and other property-related agreements.
n
Advising on off-the-plan transactions and property developments.
n
Acting for individuals, investors, landlords, tenants and property developers.
n
Advising on mortgages, loan facilities and property securities.
n
Providing advice regarding caveats and real property security arrangements.
n
Assisting with property development, planning and transaction structuring.
n
Identifying and advising on issues arising throughout property transactions.
n
Assisting with property disputes through negotiation and practical dispute resolution strategies.
n
Managing settlements and electronic conveyancing through PEXA.
n
Liaising directly with clients, banks, agents, other solicitors and external stakeholders.
n
Managing competing deadlines and maintaining accurate matter documentation.
n
n
For more experienced candidates, there will also be scope to take greater ownership of client relationships and assist with mentoring junior members of the team.
n
About You
n
To be considered, you will ideally have:
n
n
Admission as a solicitor in Australia with a current NSW practising certificate.
n
Approximately 2+ years' PAE in property law.
n
Strong experience across property transactions and conveyancing.
n
Experience in commercial and/or retail leasing.
n
Experience using PEXA.
n
Strong knowledge of property law, land transactions and relevant legislation.
n
The ability to manage matters autonomously.
n
Strong drafting, negotiation and client management skills.
n
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
n
A practical and commercially focused approach to legal advice.
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
n
n
Experience handling property transactions across other Australian jurisdictions would be advantageous but is not essential.
n
