Employer: The Trustee for P G Unit TRUST trading as La Porchetta Lilydale ABN: ************** Location: 315 Main Street, Lilydale VIC **** Position: Cook Employment Type: Full-time About the Role The Trustee for P G Unit TRUST, trading as La Porchetta Lilydale , is seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join its kitchen team on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes while maintaining consistent standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and safety in a busy restaurant environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Examine ingredients and food supplies to ensure freshness, quality and suitability for use.
Prepare, season and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and restaurant standards.
Regulate the temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.
Monitor food during preparation and cooking to ensure appropriate cooking standards and consistent quality.
Portion and plate meals, including sauces, garnishes and accompaniments, in accordance with restaurant standards.
Prepare food to accommodate special dietary requirements where required.
Store food and ingredients appropriately, including in temperature-controlled facilities.
Follow appropriate food handling, storage and stock rotation procedures.




Maintain clean and organised food preparation areas, cooking equipment and utensils.
Work efficiently with other kitchen staff during busy service periods to ensure timely preparation of meals.
Comply with food safety, hygiene, allergen management and workplace health and safety requirements.
Skills and Experience Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related discipline.
At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Cook.
Strong food preparation and cooking skills.
Ability to consistently maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a busy restaurant environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Experience with Italian-style cuisine will be highly regarded.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
