About the team
Our Sydney Corporate practice is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join its growing team.
Predominantly working with partners Dan Atkin and Simon Leslie you will join one of Australia's leading venture capital practices, advising founders, high-growth companies, investors and venture capital funds on transactions across the investment lifecycle, from early-stage and growth capital raisings through to later-stage investments, M&A; activity, global expansion and exits.
Recent highlights include:
Square Peg
on its investment in Airwallex's US$300 million Series F financing.
Blackbird Ventures
on the sale of Eucalyptus to Hims & Hers, one of the most significant exits in Australian venture capital history.
Checkbox AI
on its US$23 million Series A financing and cross-border US "flip-up" transaction.
Blackbird Ventures
as co-lead investor in Gilmour Space Technologies' AU$350 million Series E financing.
Bridgit
on its Series B capital raise led by Milford Private Equity.

Our corporate partners work on a broad range of interesting and complex transactions.
We can offer you the opportunity to join a high-performing team,



take genuine responsibility for matters and work autonomously with the support of experienced partners.
On a day-to-day basis you will have the chance to:
advise founders, high-growth companies, investors and venture capital funds on M&A;, private equity, venture capital and growth capital transactions
take a leading role on matters and work directly with clients
manage key transaction workstreams and help drive matters through to completion
supervise and mentor junior lawyers
participate in business development and client relationship activities
work with lawyers across our global network, including on cross-border matters.
About you

We are looking for a like-minded individual who combines technical excellence and strong client service skills with a practical, proactive and collaborative approach.
You will bring:
5+ years' experience, with exposure to venture capital, private M&A; and/or private equity transactions
excellent technical abilities and robust problem-solving skills
strong drafting and transaction management skills
a commercial, practical and proactive approach to advice
confidence working directly with clients and managing client relationships
the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.
