The Genetic Counsellor provides genetic information and counselling to clients and their families, organises appropriate genetic tests under supervision of a clinical geneticist / relevant medical officer and provides support to individuals and families to minimize the impact of a genetic diagnosis.
This position is within the Department of Clinical Genetics in the area of general and prenatal genetics.

Ideal Candidate
Must hold a tertiary degree with a post graduate qualification in genetic counselling recognised for registration with the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA) Genetic Counselling Register.
Has skills and knowledge in the provision of genetic counselling services and demonstrated experience in a clinical genetic unit.
Demonstrated commitment to professional development, evidence based practice and continuous improvement.
