Certifired Passive Fire Services Pty Ltd - Certifired Passive Fire Services is a passive fire protection company specialising in the inspection and rectification of fire dampers, fire-stopping installations and barrier systems.
The business provides inspection, installation and defect rectification services across varied building environments, including commercial towers, residential apartments and aged care facilities.
As a Fire Protection Equipment Technician at Certifired Passive Fire Services Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, maintaining and rectifying passive fire protection equipment and systems, with a focus on compliant fire-stopping, dampers and barrier systems.
This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail and a consistent commitment to safety and compliance.
Responsibilities and Tasks: Install passive fire protection equipment and containment systems, including fire-stopping, fire seals, barrier systems, fire and smoke dampers, lightweight construction components and rated access panels or hatches in accordance with approved requirements.
Inspect and test passive fire protection equipment and systems to confirm their condition, performance and compliance with applicable project and regulatory requirements.
Maintain and service fire protection equipment and passive fire systems to ensure they continue to meet required performance and compliance standards.
Identify, document and rectify faults, defects and non-compliant passive fire installations, including service penetrations, seals, dampers and barrier systems.
Provide practical technical advice to supervisors, clients and building stakeholders on passive fire equipment,
identified defects and suitable rectification solutions.
Assist with site audits and annual AFSS inspection activities, recording findings and contributing to detailed photographic reports and schedules.
Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications and fire-rated system details to determine appropriate materials and installation methods.
Complete accurate service reports, inspection records, photographic evidence and compliance documentation for installation, testing and rectification work.
Coordinate professionally with clients, builders, site managers and air conditioning, electrical and data trades to complete passive fire works efficiently across active sites.
Carry out all work in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, manufacturer specifications, project requirements, company procedures and site safety obligations.
Qualifications and Skills: Relevant qualification or 3 years of work experience.
Minimum 1 year experience as a Fire Protection Equipment Technician Working knowledge of passive fire protection systems, fire-stopping, fire and smoke dampers, fire seals and barrier systems.
Ability to interpret plans, technical drawings, product specifications and fire-rated construction details.
Strong fault-finding, defect rectification and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and liaising professionally with clients, site teams and other trades.
Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $80,000 - $90,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
