Job Description The School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences is a leading centre for health research and education at Griffith University, bringing together researchers, clinicians and industry partners to advance discoveries that improve health outcomes locally and globally.
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join the Artificial Heart Frontiers Program (AHFP) funded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).
The successful candidate will work within the Biorheology Research Laboratory at the Gold Coast campus of Griffith University and contribute to the delivery of this multidisciplined research project.
The AHFP is a multi-institution partnership between academia and industry, has secured investment from the MRFF to develop artificial hearts and related technologies.
We have teamed with leading academic, healthcare and industry partners to launch a new program to develop the world's most advanced artificial heart, and the next generation of cardiovascular technology to support all patients with heart failure.
Griffith University's involvement is led by the Director of the Biorheology Research Laboratory, Professor Michael Simmonds, who is the Haemocompatibility Lead and serves the Executive Committee of the AHFP.
Supported through a $50 million MRFF grant, the AHFP is expanding its research and commercialisation activities to help shape the future of heart failure treatment through innovative cardiovascular technologies.
This is a full time, fixed term position until June **** primarily based at Griffith University Gold Coast campus.
As Griffith is a multi-site university, you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith University's sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range The successful candidate will be appointed at either Research Fellow Grade 1 or Research Fellow Grade 2 ,
depending on their qualifications, skills, experience and demonstrated level of research expertise.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be at Research Fellow Grade 1 range $91,705 - $107,420 per annum + 17% superannuation.
The total FTE package will be in the range $107,295 - $125,682 per annum.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be at Research Fellow Grade 2 range $117,076 - $139,031 per annum + 17% superannuation.
The total FTE package will be in the range $136,979 - $162,667 per annum.
Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will hold a PhD or equivalent qualifications/work experience in blood rheology, or a similar field.
You will have: Experience working in the field of Biomedical and/or Haemocompatibility research and reporting on research findings.
Experience in working with ASTM standards such as F****, F*******, F**** and F****.
