HF Node Maintenance Technician To be successful in this position, you will bring; Ability to reside in local area of Exmouth Site in WA Have a previous or active AGSVA Clearance Have practical application of Communications systems About You You are a hands-on technical qualified who enjoys working with complex communications systems and thrives in an environment where reliability, safety and precision matter.
With experience in electronics, communications or electrical maintenance, you bring strong fault-finding abilities, sound technical judgement and a proactive approach to problem solving.
You are comfortable working with specialised equipment, interpreting technical documentation and following established engineering and compliance standards to deliver high-quality outcomes.
You take pride in your work, maintain accurate records and understand the importance of supporting critical infrastructure that operates in a secure and high-integrity environment.
You're a collaborative team player who communicates effectively, contributes positively to team success and is always looking for opportunities to improve systems, processes and performance.
Relevant technical qualifications, experience with communications systems, an AGSVA Security Clearance (current or previous), and the ability to reside in the Exmouth region will set you up for success in this role.
About the Role As an HF Node Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting one of Australia's most key Defence communications capabilities.
Working with advanced RF communications technology, you will be responsible for maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and repairing equipment and infrastructure that underpins the Defence High Frequency Communications System (DHFCS).
You'll contribute to both the ongoing sustainment of the existing network and the continued rollout of the Enhanced DHFCS capability, helping to ensure operational readiness and system reliability.
This role offers a diverse mix of hands-on technical work, problem solving and collaboration with a highly skilled team.
You will investigate and resolve system faults, support maintenance and engineering activities, complete technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system performance.
Working within a strong safety and compliance culture, you'll apply your technical expertise to deliver quality outcomes while supporting mission-critical communications capability for Defence.
