Personal Injury Lawyer, CTP | 1-3 Years PAE The Firm Our client is an established and growing Sydney law firm with a strong plaintiff personal injury practice and a particular focus on compulsory third party personal / motor vehicle injury matters.
Based in the CBD, the firm has a dedicated compensation team including experienced senior practitioners and Accredited Personal Injury Specialists.
The practice acts for injured persons and has developed a strong reputation for client service, technical expertise and achieving positive outcomes.
The firm offers a structured and supportive environment where lawyers are given meaningful responsibility for their files while continuing to work closely with senior practitioners as their technical and advocacy skills develop.
The Role Due to continued growth, the firm is looking to appoint a Personal Injury Lawyer with approximately 1-3 years' PAE to join its CTP team.
This is a genuine file-management role where you will take carriage of your own portfolio of CTP injury matters, with support and mentoring from experienced senior lawyers.
Your work will include: Managing NSW CTP compensation claims from initial instructions through to resolution; Advising clients on statutory benefits, weekly payments, medical and treatment expenses and permanent impairment claims; Reviewing insurer dispute notices and internal review decisions relating to statutory benefits; Developing case strategies and progressing disputed claims; Preparing and running matters before the Personal Injury Commission; Preparing applications, submissions, statements and supporting evidence; Obtaining and analysing medical, employment and liability evidence; Briefing medico-legal experts and counsel where required; Preparing permanent impairment claims and associated disputes; Preparing Independent Review Office funding applications; Conducting settlement negotiations and participating in conciliations,



conferences and mediations; and Providing clear and practical advice to injured clients throughout the life of their claim.
You will have genuine responsibility for progressing your matters while continuing to receive support on more complex disputes and strategic issues.
About You You will ideally have: Approximately 1-3 years' post-admission experience; Experience practising in plaintiff personal injury law; Strong exposure to NSW CTP Compensation matters; A working knowledge of relevant NSW legislation; Experience dealing with disputes concerning weekly benefits, medical expenses and permanent impairment; Exposure to proceedings before the Personal Injury Commission; Strong drafting and file management skills; Confidence dealing directly with clients, insurers, doctors, experts and counsel; Good judgement and the ability to progress matters with increasing autonomy; and A genuine interest in developing a long-term career in plaintiff personal injury law.
Experience appearing in the PIC, conducting negotiations or managing disputed compensation claims will be particularly well regarded.
