Hale School is Western Australia's oldest independent boys' school.
Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48-hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast.
Hale School is seeking applications from enthusiastic, experienced and well-qualified professionals for the position of Junior Social Worker (Junior School to Year 7).
The Junior Social Worker supports the wellbeing, participation and success of students from Pre-Primary to Year 7 by working collaboratively with students, families and staff to address social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
The role contributes to a positive and inclusive school environment through early intervention, counselling, advocacy, consultation and wellbeing programs, while strengthening partnerships between home and school.
The successful applicant will:
demonstrate ability to establish positive and professional relationships with students, staff and families.
have strong interpersonal, communication and advocacy skills.
Experience supporting children and families experiencing social, emotional, behavioural or wellbeing challenges.
have the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute positively to student support planning.
have the capacity to provide individual and small-group interventions that build resilience, social skills and emotional wellbeing.
have experience engaging families and connecting them with relevant supports and community services.
have the ability to contribute to staff consultation and wellbeing initiatives across the school community.
have strong organisational skills, including maintaining accurate records and managing confidential information appropriately.
have the ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
have a commitment to child safety, inclusivity, relationship-based practice and continuous professional learning.
have tertiary qualifications in Social Work.
have eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or equivalent qualified body.
have previous experience working with children, young people and families.
have experience in a school, education, community or child and family services setting is highly desirable.
School Social Worker Credential is desirable.
experience in a school, educational or multidisciplinary mental health setting is highly desirable.
have a firm commitment to independent schooling and a willingness to support Hale School's values and Anglican traditions.
have a current Working with Children (WWC) check.
have a current National Police Clearance.
a CV outlining their qualifications and relevant experience.
the names and contact details of three referees, one of whom must be the current or most recent employer.
