The Maintenance Officer is responsible for ensuring the residential aged care facility, grounds, equipment and building infrastructure are maintained in a safe, functional and presentable condition.
The role undertakes routine and preventative maintenance, responds to maintenance requests, identifies and addresses hazards, and coordinates external contractors where required.
1.0 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) equals 38 hours per week or 76 hours per fortnight.
If the role requires fewer hours, please enter the proportional FTE (e.g., 0.5 FTE = 19 hours per week).
Previous experience in maintenance, facilities management, building services, handyman work or a similar role.
Practical skills in general repairs and preventative maintenance.
Ability to identify, assess and respond appropriately to maintenance issues and workplace hazards.
Ability to complete scheduled preventative maintenance and respond to reactive maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Experience coordinating and supervising external contractors where required.
Understanding of WHS requirements and protected work practices.
Good organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with facility management, staff, residents and contractors.




Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Respectful and professional approach when working within residents' living environment.
Previous experience in residential aged care or healthcare is desirable.
Relevant trade qualification or maintenance-related experience is desirable.
Current Australian driver's licence and required employment clearances/checks.
