Great opportunity to work with a growing fit-out and refurb design and build contractor with an excellent culture.
Projects will be from $500k to $2m+ working with a repeat client.
A market leading team with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing business.
Offering a range of services to their clients, the company specialises in commercial fit-out and refurbishment with projects across various sectors.
Incorporating a wide range of skillsets, they manage their projects from design stage through to handover.
As Project Manager, you will take full ownership of the delivery of high-quality, on-time construction projects, ensuring that all works are completed to documented drawings, specifications and nominated timeframes.
You will manage projects from design stage through to handover, acting as the primary point of contact for a specific account.
With a project portfolio that includes high-end fitouts, you will be responsible for the full commercial and operational management of your projects, ensuring profitability is maintained while financial and contractual risks are minimised.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage the end-to-end delivery of fitout and refurbishment projects from design through to handover
Negotiate and let subcontracts against budget, managing procurement schedules in line with programme
Lead the tender process and contribute to the development of construction methodologies that win work
Develop and maintain project programmes,
communicating updates to clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
Identify and manage construction risk across projects, implementing mitigation strategies proactively
Manage project expenditure, cashflow forecasting, and monthly cost reporting
Oversee project quality assurance, ensuring all works comply with drawings, specifications, and relevant standards
Manage client and stakeholder relationships, providing regular progress reporting and maintaining satisfaction throughout
Lead and mentor junior project staff including Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Site Managers
Manage project completion including practical completion documentation, defect rectification, and close-out
Qualifications and Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or similar
Minimum 5 years' experience delivering fitout and refurbishment projects as a Project Manager with a head contractor or D&B; builder
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects from design stage through to handover
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets, variations, and claims
Working knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements and standards
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing junior team members
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Well-developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Procore or similar project management software is preferred
