Greencross Vets Richlands is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of our clinic.

About the Role
n
As Head Veterinary Nurse, you'll be a steady, dependable presence who is always thinking one step ahead. You'll lead by example, support your team, and help ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently every day.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Managing and supporting the veterinary nursing team
n
Mentoring, training, and developing nurses across all experience levels
n
Building a positive, collaborative team culture
n
Supporting veterinarians in consultations, treatments, and procedures
n
Undertaking surgical nursing, pathology, hospital nursing, and team‐based consulting
n
Providing emergency and critical care nursing support when required
n
Managing stock and inventory to ensure high‐quality patient care
n
Supporting workflow management and operational efficiency
n
Assisting with administrative and reception duties when required
n
Handling client enquiries professionally in person, by phone, and via email
n
Coordinating equipment maintenance and repairs alongside the Practice Manager
n
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and clinic performance
n
n

About You
n
We're looking for someone who:
n
n
Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
n
Has a minimum of 3+ years of clinical veterinary nursing experience
n
Has previous leadership, mentoring, or senior nursing experience, or is ready to step into a leadership role
n
Enjoys coaching and developing other nurses
n
Has strong surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring skills
n
Demonstrates excellent organisational and time‐management abilities
n
Is calm, friendly, empathetic, and professional
n
Has strong communication and customer service skills
n
Leads with positivity and a team‐first attitude
n
Has experience with RxWorks (desirable but not essential)
n
n
