About the role

We're looking for a hands-on Technician - UG Mining Equipment (HcD Technician) to join our Mining Services team based in Perth, WA.
n
In this role, you'll support Orica's underground blasting machinery and customer-operated systems through maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment commissioning, and technical support across Western Australia and South Australia.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically‐minded people looking to apply their skills in a current industry. Whether you are experienced or not, we'll train and support you to develop your knowledge of underground blasting operations and our specialised mining equipment.
n
Working on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, you'll fly to Orica locations across Western Australia, enjoying a high level of autonomy while providing technical support and training to our valued customers.

What you will be doing
n
n
Service, maintain and repair underground blasting equipment, including Hypercharge Drive Units (HcD).
n
Find and fix mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and system faults.
n
Provide technical support and advice to customers on‐site and over the phone.
n




Respond to equipment breakdowns and help customers minimise operational downtime.
n
Carry out equipment inspections, routine servicing and maintenance audits.
n
Assist with installing, testing and commissioning new equipment.
n
Build strong relationships with customers through reliable service and support.
n
Keep accurate service records and work safely in line with site, customer and Orica requirements.

What you will bring
n

Solid hands‐on experience in maintaining mobile or fixed plant equipment;
n
Knowledge and skills in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical systems;
n
Ability to diagnose issues and solve problems independently;
n
Confidence working on‐site and managing your own workload;
n
Clear communication skills when supporting customers or teams;
n
A safety‐first mindset and understanding of safe work practices.
