Talenza is partnering with a leading technology and services organisation delivering critical cyber security capabilities within a government setting.

We're seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join a high-performing team responsible for protecting complex on-premises and cloud-based environments. This is a hands-on role focused on security operations, engineering, vulnerability management, incident response and platform hardening across enterprise-scale infrastructure. Based on the provided position description and hiring manager brief, the role requires experience across security engineering, hardening, monitoring and compliance in government-regulated environments.

What you'll be doing
n
n
Implement and operate enterprise security capabilities across cloud and on-prem environments
n
Perform system hardening in line with ISM, Essential Eight and security best practices
n
Investigate security alerts and support incident response activities
n
Drive vulnerability management initiatives across infrastructure and applications
n
Work closely with stakeholders to improve security posture and reduce risk
n
Support continuous monitoring, compliance reporting and assurance activities
n




Contribute to security tooling integration, optimisation and remediation programs
n

What we're looking for
n
n
Experience as a Security Engineer, Security Analyst or Cyber Security Specialist in enterprise environments
n
Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux and cloud platform security
n
Demonstrated experience with vulnerability management and security operationsUnderstanding of incident response processes and security monitoring
n
Familiarity with Australian Government security frameworks including ISM, PSPF and Essential Eight
n
Experience supporting regulated or highly secure environments
n
Exposure to automation, IAM, SIEM or observability platforms will be highly regarded
n
Active NV1 Security Clearance
n
