Senior Privacy & Telecommunications Lawyer| 6-12 Month Secondment

Elevate Legal Talent is seeking an experienced Privacy & Telecommunications Lawyer for a 6 to 12-month secondment with one of Australia's leading telecommunications businesses.
n
The successful candidate will play a key advisory role across privacy, telecommunications regulation, compliance, and emerging legislative reform initiatives. This role will suit a senior lawyer who is comfortable operating autonomously and providing strategic, commercially focused legal advice to a broad range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Advising on Privacy Act obligations and related compliance requirements
n
Providing guidance on Part 13 of the Telecommunications Act, including matters relating to protected information
n
Advising on obligations arising under the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act
n
Supporting the General Counsel and responses to law enforcement requests & associated compliance considerations
n
Assisting with telecommunications regulatory reform initiatives and legislative change projects
n
Advising on privacy issues arising in the context of domestic and family violence matters
n
Supporting the implementation and interpretation of the Scam Prevention Framework and related regulatory requirements
n
Providing ongoing strategic and operational legal support to business stakeholders on privacy and telecommunications compliance matters

About You
n
We are looking for an Australian-qualified lawyer with 10+ years' post-admission experience and:
n
n
Strong experience advising on Australian privacy laws and regulatory compliance
n
Demonstrated telecommunications sector experience, particularly in relation to:
n
Part 13 Telecommunications Act obligations/Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act requirements
n
A strong understanding of regulated industries and complex legislative frameworks
n
Experience navigating regulatory reform and implementing legal change initiatives
n
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
n
n
Experience with Government or telecommunications industry experience will be highly regarded.
