As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building and evolving the myhub platform, delivering scalable, secure and high-performing solutions used by thousands of advisers nationwide.
n
Working closely with Product, Architecture and Engineering leaders, you'll influence technical direction, contribute to architectural decisions, and solve complex engineering challenges across customer-facing applications, integrations and backend services.



This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys taking ownership, mentoring others, and leveraging modern technologies, including AI-assisted development, to build impactful products.

What You'll Be Doing
n
n
Design, build and maintain scalable web applications, APIs and microservices.
n
Develop clean, secure, testable and maintainable code.
n
Create modern, intuitive and engaging digital experiences using contemporary front-end technologies.
n
Collaborate with Product, Architecture and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
n
Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
n
Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering efficiency and outcomes.
n
Build scalable and resilient solutions that support high transaction volumes.
n
Implement caching, optimisation and performance improvement strategies.
n
Optimise database queries and data access patterns to maximise application performance.
n
Ensure the security, reliability and resilience of systems and services.
n
Conduct peer code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
n
Create and maintain technical documentation, coding standards and development guidelines.
n
Champion automated testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
n
Proactively identify, manage and remediate technical debt to ensure long-term platform sustainability.
n
Mentor, coach and support engineers across the team.
n
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous learning.
n
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to successful delivery outcomes.
n
Partner with Product, DevOps, Cyber Security, Architecture and Support teams to achieve business objectives.
n
Provide support for production systems, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
n
Contribute to platform stability,



monitoring and ongoing service continuity.
n
Participate in occasional after-hours support activities as required.
n

What You Bring
n
You don't need to tick every box, but experience in the below will set you up for success.

Experience & Skills
n
n
Minimum 7+ years' experience in Software Engineering or a related senior technical role.
n
Experience designing and building enterprise-grade software applications.
n
Strong experience with Node.js (NestJS highly regarded).
n
Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
n
Experience with modern web application frameworks.
n
Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL Server or similar).
n
Experience developing and consuming APIs and microservices.
n
Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery practices.
n
Experience with automated testing, debugging, performance tuning and optimisation.
n
Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
n
Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
n
Knowledge of caching technologies and performance engineering.
n
Exposure to Microsoft .NET (C# .NET Core).
n
Experience within financial services, wealth management or fintech environments.
n
Experience building or integrating AI-enabled solutions.
