The role
As an HR Business Partner, you will work collaboratively with a diverse range of business units across Council, providing trusted, specialist HR advice and support.
This is a newly created HR Business Partner position within an established and collaborative HR Business Partner team, providing an exciting opportunity to help shape the role, build strong partnerships across the organisation and contribute to the continued evolution of Council's people strategy and capability.
You will play a key role in strengthening people management capability, supporting positive employee experiences, and helping leaders navigate a range of people and organisational challenges.
No Two Days Will Be The Same.
You Will Have The Opportunity To Make a Meaningful Impact Across a Broad Range Of HR Functions, Including
Providing trusted advice and support to managers and employees on employee and industrial relations (ER/IR) matters, including performance management, grievances and investigations.
Interpreting and providing advice on awards, policies, legislation and Council's Enterprise Agreement.
Partnering with departments through organisational change, restructures and workforce initiatives.
Supporting the end-to-end recruitment and selection process, including position establishment, position description development, sourcing strategies and participation in interviews.
Working closely with the Injury Management team to support the effective management of employee health and wellbeing matters.
Reviewing, developing and implementing HR policies, procedures and frameworks.
Contributing to and, where appropriate, leading HR projects and strategic initiatives that strengthen Council's people capability.
About You
You are an experienced HR professional who thrives in a collaborative, client focused environment and enjoys working with leaders to find practical solutions to complex people matters.
You will bring strong relationship building and problem-solving skills, with the ability to establish credibility and develop positive partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
You will be confident providing advice, challenging thinking when required, and adapting your approach to meet the needs of different business areas.
You Will Also Bring
Strong ER/IR experience, particularly in performance management, workplace investigations and employee relations matters.
An ability to navigate complex and sensitive issues with sound judgement.
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands in a busy environment.
A collaborative and solutions focused approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting leaders and employees.
A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline, or substantial experience as a Human Resources practitioner.
The ability to interpret and apply relevant employment legislation, awards, policies and enterprise agreements.
