Our client is a well-established legal firm based in the heart of the CBD. Medium in size, it offers a collaborative, pleasant working environment with a focus on staff. This is a role which will suit someone who enjoys working autonomously and taking ownership of the finance function.

It is imperative that the successful applicant has experience working in trust accounting. A background in legal or the professional services sector is ideal.

Duties:
This is a varied role which involves undertaking the following duties:

- Manage cash flow, day-to-day finance and accounting functions
- Budgeting, forecasts, reporting
- Provide financial insights, advice and recommendations to the COO
- Manage the month end process including inter-company transactions
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations (BAS, IAS, Superannuation, Payroll Tax)
- Collaborate with external accountant on technical issues and project tasks
- Payroll processing including tax, super and other legislative requirements
- Internal control and accounting/procedure policy development.

About You:




With a strong background in trust accounting, you will be accustomed to working in a qualified services environment. You will also ideally be:

- A self-starter with an interest in upskilling
- A great communicator with a background in dealing with key stakeholders
- Highly skilled in financial reporting
- Someone who has a strong work ethic
- Highly analytical with excellent problem-solving skills

Required Skills:
In addition to the above, you will have:

- 3 + years years of experience in a similar role
- Experience using Xero
- Experience with LEAP software
- Experience in preparation of financial statements requiring a statutory audit
- Advanced excel skills
