Ready to take ownership of projects, clients and what comes next?
Are you an experienced Project Manager or Senior Civil Engineer within the land development or infrastructure space?
Looking for a role where you’re still close to the engineering, but you’re also trusted to make decisions, influence outcomes and build strong relationships with clients?
Maybe you’re ready for a little more ownership.
A little more commercial exposure.
And a role where your experience actually gets to influence how projects are delivered.
J. Wyndham Prince has spent more than 40 years delivering land development and major infrastructure projects across Greater Sydney.
They’re an established multidisciplinary consultancy, working across civil engineering, project management, planning, stormwater and strategic engineering to deliver practical outcomes for both private and government clients.
And now they’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their Delivery Services team.
Based in their Penrith CBD office, you’ll have contemporary facilities, plenty of parking, public transport, cafés and shopping all within walking distance.
Oh… and there’s still the 3pm finish every Friday.
About the role
This isn’t just about keeping a project on track.
You’ll have genuine ownership across the full project lifecycle from planning and resourcing through to delivery, client management and completion.
You’ll be responsible for directing and guiding project resources, managing project plans and schedules, keeping a close eye on budgets and forecasts, and making the decisions needed to deliver projects successfully.
You’ll work closely with clients, consultants and internal teams, making sure projects are technically sound, commercially viable, constructible and delivered within scope, time and cost.
And because you’re joining the Delivery Services team, there’s a broader element to the role too.
You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to proposals, tenders and new opportunities.
Build and strengthen client relationships.
Identify opportunities in the market.
Contribute to scopes, methodologies and pricing.
And help build a strong pipeline of work.
It’s project management with a little more influence.
Day to day, you’ll:
- Take ownership of the delivery of land development and infrastructure projects.
- Direct and guide project resources to achieve client and company outcomes.
- Manage project plans, schedules, forecasts, budgets and resource requirements.
- Coordinate internal teams and external sub-consultants.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues and delivery constraints.
- Maintain strong, proactive relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Provide technical oversight and review where required.
- Manage project financials, variations, invoicing, revenue and margin.
- Contribute to proposals, tenders, scopes, methodologies and fee estimates.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and grow the pipeline.
About You
You’ve been around civil engineering and project delivery for a while.
You understand what makes a project work. Technically, commercially and from a client’s perspective.
You might currently be a Project Manager.
You might be a Senior Civil Engineer who has naturally moved into project ownership and client management.
Either way, you’re ready for a role where you’re trusted to take the lead.
You’re comfortable sitting in front of a client and talking through a project.
You’re confident managing consultants, resources, budgets and competing priorities.
You can look at a project and understand not just what needs to be delivered, but what could go wrong,
where the opportunities are and what needs to happen next.
And you’re commercially minded.
You understand that successful project delivery isn’t just about hitting a deadline. It’s about delivering something technically sound, profitable, practical and valuable to the client.
You’ll also bring:
- 5+ years’ senior civil engineering experience.
- Experience managing civil engineering, land development and/or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working across complex projects and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- A strong understanding of project management principles and project delivery.
- Solid client and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness across project budgets, resources and financial performance.
- Experience contributing to proposals, tenders or business development would be highly regarded.
- A Civil Engineering degree or relevant tertiary qualification.
