Join a leading Bundoora-based University as a Technical Officer within the STEM College! This full-time role (36 hours/week), HEW 4 for an initial 6 month assignment.
About the Role
In this dynamic hands-on role based full-time on site at the Bundoora Campus, you will provide operational and technical support across STEM laboratories and workspaces, with an initial focus on Composites laboratories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain safe, organised, and operational lab facilities, equipment, consumables, and PPE.
- Assist with lab documentation including SOPs, SWIs, risk assessments, and chemical registers.
- Provide practical support, equipment inductions, and guidance to students, researchers, and staff.
- Coordinate routine inspections, servicing, and maintenance schedules for infrastructure and tools.
- Manage chemical inventories, SDS records, waste management, and OHS compliance.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in laboratory, engineering, or workshop environments with hands-on technical skills.
- Understanding of safe lab practices,
chemical handling, SDS, PPE, and OHS standards.
- Robust organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
Relevant qualifications (Certificate, Associate Diploma or higher) in a technical discipline and a valid Working with Children Check. If you have worked as a Technical Officer and have the relevant experience for this assignment then please email through your CV and cover letter in WORD format
