About the role
This APS 6 Policy Officer role offers the opportunity to contribute to a significant reform agenda, developing and implementing policy, strategies and projects that support broader organisational priorities. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you will use data, technical inputs and sound judgement to develop recommendations, progress reform initiatives and prepare high-quality government documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement reform policy, strategies and strategic projects
- Build and manage productive internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Prepare high-quality policy, project and corporate documents for review
- Design, contribute to and lead stakeholder engagement activities
- Use data and technical inputs to develop evidence-based recommendations
- Apply sound judgement to progress work within governance arrangements
Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and writing skills for a government audience
- Experience developing and implementing policy, projects or reform programs
- Ability to prepare policy papers, reports, briefings and correspondence
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a cooperative working style
- Strategic policy, legislation or disability sector knowledge is highly regarded
