An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and with solid attention to detail Clinical Coder Trainee to join the supportive Clinical Coding team at Northern Sydney LHD. In this role, you will be provided with training on all specialties and gain hands-on coding experience with the Clinical Coder Trainee Program.

Employment Type: Temporary Full Time until 28 September 2027 (with possibility of ongoing employment)
Position Classification: Administration Officer Level 3
Remuneration: $1,416.58 - $1,460.73 per week

What you'll be doing
The primary responsibility of a Trainee Clinical Coder is to undertake training for accurate translation of narrative descriptions of diseases and procedures into alphanumeric codes using the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM) classification system.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria.

- Proficiency in medical terminology and successful completion ICD-10-AM Clinical coding course prior to or during appointment.
- Experience using coding books across a range of specialties with a proven knowledge of Australian Coding Standards.

Demonstrated experience in using computerised systems and Microsoft software with strong analytical skills and proven attention to detail.
