Key responsibilities?
- As the Underwriter - Cyber,
you will contribute to the growth and profitability of Liberty's Cyber product line through marketing, underwriting and managing standard risks, while applying sound judgement to risks requiring special handling or unusual coverage. Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients, supporting the marketing and sale of Liberty's Cyber products and brand.
- Review, rate and underwrite new business and renewals in line with Liberty's quality selection and adequate pricing guidelines.
- Develop and execute selling and negotiation strategies that support sustainable portfolio performance.
- Deliver a high level of responsive, differentiated underwriting service to brokers and clients.
- Manage facilities, broker referrals and binder agreements to support growth and retention.
- Review and negotiate policy terms and conditions, including manuscript facility wordings and endorsements.
- Contribute to product development and marketing plans through market research, competitor analysis, product design and segment focus.
- Work collaboratively with Claims, Risk Management, Business Operations, Compliance and other internal stakeholders to support an integrated business approach.
- Articulate Liberty's value proposition and assess rating elasticity during the underwriting process.
- Maintain appropriate records and reports, support audits, meet legal and corporate requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement.
About you:
- Technical underwriting capability, with an interest in applying this to Cyber and technology risks.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools, including GPT models, and the ability to leverage them for research, content creation, and analysis.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to develop trusted broker and client partnerships.
- Clear, confident verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective negotiation and selling skills.
- Sound decision-making and analytical capability.
- A results-focused approach, with the ability to prioritise and focus on outcomes.
- Business, financial and market awareness.
- Investigative, inquisitive and research skills.
- Relevant experience in the general insurance industry, including an aligned role with a broker or insurance company.
- Strong administrative skills and confidence using systems including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database applications.
