Purpose of the Role
BGIS is looking for an experienced Organisational Development Senior Advisor to guide a focused portfolio of organisational development initiatives over an initial 12-month term. Reporting to the Head of Learning & Capability, you will work closely with People & Culture colleagues, managers, and stakeholders across multiple states to improve employee experience, strengthen onboarding, and build succession planning and internal mobility pathways.
This newly created position has been established to support expanded duties and several exciting innovations planned for the year ahead. You'll have genuine ownership of your workplan, with the opportunity to shape practical programs, measure their impact, and recommend where they go next.
The ideal candidate will be collaborative, curious, and thoughtful, with strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills and a genuine interest in helping people and teams thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Own a focused 12-month organisational development workplan with clear milestones, measures, and evidence of impact.
- Guide ESAT action planning and delivery, translating employee feedback into practical initiatives that improve engagement and experience.
- Design, implement, and improve onboarding programs, including account-specific modules, buddy program frameworks, and new manager onboarding resources.
- Develop succession planning and internal mobility tools, frameworks, and implementation plans that strengthen talent pipelines.
- Partner with managers and stakeholders to understand organisational,
team, and capability needs, and turn insights into practical solutions.
- Create resources, guides, toolkits, templates, and communications that support consistent implementation across the business.
- Facilitate workshops and team sessions that support onboarding effectiveness, capability uplift, and positive behaviour change.
- Manage project activity, governance, stakeholder updates, reporting, and implementation tracking.
- Create and track KPIs for current initiatives, using data, market insights, and feedback to evaluate effectiveness and identify opportunities.
- Prepare clear progress updates that demonstrate outcomes, risks, lessons learned, and value created.
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in organisational development, capability development, talent, people development, change, employee experience, or a related People & Culture function.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and consulting skills.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create clear and practical resources.
- Strong analytical thinking and data interpretation skills, including KPI creation and tracking.
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to turn insights into action.
- Comfortable working with colleagues across multiple states and locations.
- Relevant qualification in Organisational Development or equivalent practical experience.
Desirable:
- Experience with employee experience action plans, onboarding or buddy programs, succession planning, internal mobility, capability frameworks, or people development initiatives.
- Experience using people data, engagement results, workforce insights, and learning systems.
- Experience with Oracle HCM.
- Accreditation in coaching, change management, organisational development, psychometrics, facilitation, or assessment tools.
- Experience with market insights and workforce forecasting.
Workplace Flexibility
This position can be based from either our World Square office in Sydney or our Melbourne CBD office, both conveniently located close to public transport, cafés, and local amenities.
Following training, you will enjoy a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, operating during core business hours. ?
