The role of Senior Project Officer, Queensland Women and Girls’ Health Promotion Program, is to provide high-level project delivery and operational support across a health promotion and prevention-focused program of work at the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre and the Wacol Youth Justice precinct, including West Moreton Youth Detention Centre and Remand Centre. This role has a particular focus on mental health promotion and young women and girls. The role works with limited supervision, supporting the progression of multiple project activities, managing competing priorities, and ensuring milestones, reporting and governance requirements are met.

Your key responsibilities:

- Provide high-level project and operational support across a program of health promotion work, coordinating activities, timelines, deliverables and dependencies to support effective implementation of health promotion initiatives.
- Provide direct delivery of health education, in collaboration with other staff across the centres.
- Support project delivery through maintaining project plans, schedules, registers, trackers and documentation, and monitoring progress against agreed milestones and priorities.
- Identify, collate, analyse, and convey information to a range of stakeholders to support project decision making related to whole of system development for positive youth outcomes.

Role fit

The essential requirements for this role are:

- Demonstrated experience providing high-level project and operational support preferably in relation to social determinants of health and/or health promotion, including coordinating and delivering health education activities, managing schedules, maintaining documentation and registers, and supporting delivery of outcomes across multiple workstreams within agreed timeframes.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to identify and manage risks and issues, resolve competing priorities, develop practical solutions, and exercise initiative and accountability in a complex environment,



preferably in youth detention contexts and/or with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Demonstrated ability to use high-level interpersonal communication, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills to build productive working relationships, support collaboration, and influence outcomes across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of Queensland Health financial procurement and operational systems, processes and governance requirements, and apply this knowledge to support effective project and business delivery.
