About the role

GP@Anderson is seeking a friendly, organised and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team 6 days a fortnight. This role is suited to someone who enjoys working with people, has excellent communication skills and can provide a welcoming and supportive experience for patients. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play an important role in the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice, supporting our doctors and clinical team while ensuring patients receive efficient and courteous service.

Key responsibilities

- Welcoming patients and managing front-desk enquiries.

- Answering incoming phone calls and responding to patient enquiries.

- Scheduling, confirming and managing appointments.

- Maintaining accurate patient records and updating information in the practice management system.

- Processing patient payments, Medicare claims and private billing.

- Managing correspondence, referrals and incoming medical documents.

- Liaising with doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and other medical providers.

- Maintaining patient confidentiality and following privacy requirements.





- Supporting general administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.

About you

- Must be experienced working with Best Practice Software

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- A friendly, skilled and patient-focused approach.

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

- The ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy environment.

- Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems.

- A commitment to patient confidentiality and professional conduct.

- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Previous medical reception or general practice experience is highly regarded.

- Familiarity with medical billing, Medicare claims and practice management software will be an advantage.
