Ashton Manufacturing is one of Australia’s leading funeral product manufacturers, proudly Australian owned and operated since 1977.

We are currently looking for hands-on team members to join our manufacturing team across two key areas:

1. CNC & Wood Machinery – operating machinery to cut, shape and produce timber components used in our products.

2. Coffin Assembly – assembling wooden coffin carcases and components using hand tools, power tools and production equipment.

We are particularly interested in people who have experience working with wood, CNC or woodworking machinery, cabinet making, joinery, furniture manufacturing, timber products or other hands-on manufacturing environments.

If you have the right practical skills and attitude, we will provide training on our products and processes.

About the Roles:

CNC & Wood Machinery

For our machinery area, we're looking for people with previous experience operating CNC and/or woodworking machinery.

Depending on your experience, your duties may include:

- Operating CNC and woodworking machinery
- Setting up machinery for different production requirements
- Cutting,



shaping and machining timber components
- Working with spindles and other timber components
- Measuring and working accurately to specifications
- Using hand tools, power tools and manufacturing equipment
- Inspecting components for quality and defects
- Following production schedules and work instructions
- Maintaining machinery and work areas in a clean and safe condition

Experience in CNC operation, wood machining, cabinet making, joinery, furniture manufacturing, spindle moulding or timber manufacturing would be highly regarded.

Coffin Assembly

For our assembly area, we're looking for practical, hands-on people who are confident working with wood and tools.

Your duties may include:

- Assembling wooden coffin carcases and components
- Measuring and positioning components accurately
- Using hand tools, power tools and assembly equipment
- Gluing, fixing and securing timber components
- Checking alignment, fit and overall construction
- Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets our quality standards
- Following production specifications and work instructions
- Safely handling and moving products throughout the production area
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workspace

Previous experience in cabinet making, joinery, furniture assembly, carpentry, timber manufacturing, construction, production or another hands-on workplace would be highly regarded.

- A current forklift licence would be highly regarded.

Hours & Employment

These positions offer 38 hours per week. Successful applicants will initially be employed on a casual basis during the probationary period. Following successful completion of probation, there may be an opportunity to transition to permanent full-time employment.
